ABC LAND WILL REOPEN ON MONDAY 7/6/20

ABC LAND WILL REOPEN MONDAY, 7/6/2020

To Our ABC LAND Family,

We are planning for the days and weeks ahead  when we will safely return to care for and educate our students, and also return to a different and more resilient world around us. While we cannot be certain of the future path of this disease, our decisions will be driven first by prioritizing the health and  safety needs of children, parents, and staff alike. So, given the dynamic nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, these procedures will evolve as further research, data and resources become available. Our ultimate goal will be to reduce exposure to the virus wherever possible while providing our students with exceptional care and education.

Covid -19 Safety and Heath Protocols Starting 7/6/2020

Student Drop Off:

A masked staff member will meet each student at the door and take their temperature with a contactless thermometer. Any child that is experiencing noticeable signs of illness will not be permitted to attend school. Examples include fever, cough, runny noses, sneezing, vomiting, and diarrhea. Due to the Coronavirus, cold symptoms are now included.

There will be no exceptions to this policy. We ask that you continue to self-report any illness, known exposure to Covid-19, and confirmed cases of Covid-19 in your household. Parents must wear masks at drop off and pick up time.  If a family is at the front door when you arrive, please wait in line and allow at least six feet of social distancing between groups. As a courtesy to those waiting behind you, any conversation at this time must be quick. Parents will not be permitted to enter the facility.

Student Pick Up:

A masked staff member will meet each parent at the door. Your child will be prepared for departure and brought to you while you wait outside the building. Parents must wear masks at drop off and pick up time.  If a family is at the front door when you arrive, please wait in line and allow at least six feet of social distancing between groups. As a courtesy to those waiting behind you, any conversation at this time must be quick. We recommend calling your child’s teacher at nap time to discuss any concerns. Parents will not be permitted to enter the facility.

Student Health Precautions:

Upon arrival, students will be taken  to their classroom where they will immediately wash their hands under staff supervision. This practice will be completed multiple times throughout the day. Any use of hand sanitizer by students will be supervised by a staff member.

Students in one classroom will not mix with other classrooms during the school day. Playground usage will be limited to one class at a time. Lunch and snacks will be served to each individual classroom.

Because of breathing concerns (allergies, asthma) and safety hazards (choking), students will not be required to wear masks.

Although it is not always possible with children this age to practice social distancing, we can ensure that classes include the same group of children each day, and that the same child care providers remain with the same group each day. We will restrict mixing between classrooms.

Rest assured, we will continue to promote healthy hygiene at  our school. As you know, we keep an extremely clean facility and since the outbreak of Covid-19, we have further enhanced our sanitation practices. The school and its contents and playground have undergone a complete  cleaning and disinfecting. This practice will continue on a daily basis.

 Some Thoughts:

We understand that the safety measures mentioned above pose a constant reminder to families that these are not normal times. As we tip-toe back toward routine, each parent must weigh the risks of sending their young children outside of the safety of their homes. ABC LAND has been providing loving care/education for children and peace of mind for parents since 1949. We believe that our center is still the best loving care and education your child should receive. Once again, we appreciate your support and look forward to the future with great expectations.

Respectfully,

Frank and Janice Venuto

& The Staff of ABC LAND
